This is a great website for new comers to find cheap housing for rent, furniture and household appliances, Cars you name it. Its got everything.

Back to the topic.
I brought a lot of stuff off kijiji. Its brilliant site.
I also think goodwill is great place to buy used things for the house and if you are not scared or feel uncomfortable about buying used things.
I brought a lot of things for my kitchen when I first got here. Like pots and pans and dishes. Which as anyone knows can cost 100's. As I know, when you first arrive money can be very tight. Much better than Value Village imo. which is another big box used store. Goodwills are good some are better. There always a couple in every town to check out. Some are better than others.
