I was looking for a home theater system and came across the following deal in best buy toronto. To me it looks like a very good deal.. but not sure if it is value for money. what do u guys think. is it worth it. pls help

Seems to me like decent brands:Toshiba, Bose and Yamaha. In the Netherlands just the projection tv would cost you something like CAD 3000 so I guess the deal on the package isn't too bad.

You'd need a big room to put it in! It does seem like pretty good value if you have the money to spend, but perhaps these thigngs are cheaper in Canada. Only you can say if it is what you want.

Doesnt look like a bad deal. TV would normally be in the $1800 range, reciever could be $200+, and Bose speakers are never cheap. Dont buy it without watching/listening to it first though, doesnt matter how good a deal it is if you dont like the sound / picture quality!

Projector TVs can be a mixed bunch, but the latest generation of digital light engine ones seem OK, if not quite flat panel quality (or cost thankfully)

Never been a big fan of the "5 small speaker" systems, I'd rather have some real speakers up front. Thats just me though!

I have the 57" version of the TV shown in that flyer...I bought it at Best Buy 18 months ago. I had a friend that works there and got an amazing deal (sorry) so I can't really compare the price but I will tell you that I am very happy with the TV.

Thanks for the responses guys. The deal looks really tempting but do u guys think if there is any catch. Would it be refurbished equipment. I am new to Canad and hence not sure abt the sale policies here.

Also I feel that in electronics & electrical equipments, Canada seems to be atleast 1 or 2 years behind Asia (Singapore, where i come from). Anysways I will let you guys know if I buy it.
