Question glasgow to ontario

Hi guys

We ( kids aged 2.5 and 9 and partner) are hoping to emigrate to ontario - not quite sure where either toronto area or ottawa, but going over in june to check it all out.

Can anyone advise if it is worth employing a resettlement adviser?? charges are £4000 so don't and can't afford to waste £!! Says he can arrange to introduce us to employers etc and not sure if a good or quicker route than trying to apply ourselves

Also dilemma over healthcare, child benefit etc, any clues??

thanks for reading this and hope you all doing well.

Welcome jane. If you manage to find work and come to Ontario on either PR or TWP, you will qualify for OHIP (healthcare) after 3 months and for child benefit after 12 months.

Opinions on resettlement advisors and/or immigration lawyers are mixed. Personally I wouldn't bother, but it likely depends on your particular circumstances.

Oh, and read the wiki.

Cheers.

Hi Jane,
We moved over in march, I got a job in jan, and they have applied
for my LMO and as soon as they get that we are in on twp for 12months
and hopefully apply for pr. Thats if we all settle first. It is easier to all the
stuff yourself, than throw money at those immigration consultants.
