Default Gifts for a Canadian

Hey everyone,

It's my first post here, but I've loved reading the posts for a while - very nice forum! I'm looking for a few ideas from the good people here as to what I could possibly buy a Canadian as a Christmas gift, bearing in mind that she's absolutely obsessed with England/Britain? Anybody know of any good websites with British themed gifts since google hasn't thrown up anything inspiring!

Thanks all!

Hi OJ - welcome!

If she likes books you wouldn't go far wrong with any of these....

A Picture of Britain by David Dimbleby - he visits some landscapes made famous by artists

Coast has some lovely photography of the UK's coast

Or Alan Titchmarsh's History of Britain which as well as being very readable also has some great photos.

With the world cup coming up, you won,t go far wrong with an England football (not soccer, whatever that may be) shirt. For non world cup, a West Ham shirt will give her a true sense of English culture.

What about the Past Times shop... they must have a website? My mom wanted something 'British' once and I just went there.

Reminds me of a place called Crapstone, which actually had Crapstone Villas in it's locale. And it actually was, crap, in a mossy, run down, rural inbred kinda way. Not quite village of the damned but the kids were so bored that they grew extra digits in their spare time.
