We have just received our passports back with our visas and our UK house is on the market!
My OH is now looking to get his exams recognised to the Canadian equivalents but it all seems very confusing, having read through the government website. He's got a few 'O' levels and CSEs together with financial planning and personal tax qualifications, received post education.
We are off to Quebec (Sherbrooke - if any expats resides there, it'd be great to hear from you). I realise each province has its own process for qualification recognition but any advice/experience in this process would be appreciated; and did it help when looking for a job in Canada?
Merry Xmas & a Happy New Year to all

All depends on province. Bear in mind that while school and university qualifications will usually translate, non-university qualifications may not be recognised.
Your husband could also find out if the institutes he qualified with have any links with Canadian institutes.

I had mine compared to the Canadian equivalent by the local University (Toronto) but it cost me $300 for the fast service. I needed orignal copy of my Degree Certificate, trans-scripts of what I studied and a summary of the course overall. Some of my qual were not recognised as they were not issued by a University rather an Awarding Body. We also went to the local Newcomers Centre which was fairly helpful in terms of where to get quals transferred and with job hunting/resume writing etc. Good luck!!

I've had 3 different jobs in the science field since I've been in Canada (I came over in 2001) and have never had my qualifications (BSc and MSc) questioned by any employer.
I did my degrees in the era before transcripts were available, so only have the certificates but no-one has ever required me to undergo the equivalency process.
