Default Getting Nervous!

Have applied to college in Pictou, NS, and spoke to the admissions team there earlier today. They have received the copies of my college certificates from the UK, and will be letting me know 'soon' whether I have been successful in my application to start in September!

If I have, hopefully my wife and I will be off to NS this year!

Just need to get my flat sold now, have had about 6 viewings but for one reason or another it wasn't right for each of the people who have come round.

I have to keep my fingers crossed! Has anyone else had any experience with applying to colleges in Canada while living in the UK? If so, how long did they take to let you know if you had been accepted? I have heard horror stories from some friends in the USA that they haven't been told until 2 days before the course was due to start!

Sorry, my experience isn't too positive. Several years ago I looked at the option of moving here on a study permit, and went through the same process you're immersed in. I had a call from the university a week before the new semester started confirming my place and asking if I was still wanting to attend (after I'd chased them up regularly for a decision). I wasn't too impressed with their overseas student admissions policy.

I don't think it is just oversees students that have to wait for a decision. My daughter has applied to 2 in NS and one in PEI. We are having to chase them up every few weeks to try and get to know a decision. We also need to plan for fees and accommodation. We are an hour away from Pictou, wish she was going there, then she would be able to commute. I am going to start asking around and ring the colleges to find out when we can expect a decision. I will let you know any feedback. I hope you hear back soon, but if it sounds like they do leave it to the last minute, then all you can do is plan for the move. Which is what we are trying to do, but difficult not knowing which location it will be.
