Has anyone out there managed to get a mortgage without a job? If you have can you please share what was required, for example how much the bank asked for as down payment. Thank you.

We had to provide 35% deposit and show we had a minimum 6 months mortgage payments as well

I got mine with Home Trust, apparently there aren't too many doing self certification mortgages these days

Not really, I could have bought the house outright, but because the exchange rate was so low, I decided a mortgage would allow me to bring my cash over a longer time period and hopefully the rate of exchange will improve over the coming years.

You know now though and it's not really about Walmart going bust or not IMO. If you feel ok about (and even proud of) it, then I guess that's up to you. Just feels a bit tacky to me, especially the making of excuses. However, not my business.

Additionally, Walmart won't lose out, this is all factored into the price we pay, in the end you and the rest of us pay more to cover errors and shrinkage. Just because you did not notice until you got home does not stop you from going back and doing the right thing.or donate the $100 to charity, that way at least someone who deserves it gets the benefit. I feel sure that if the error was the other way, you'd have had no hesitation going back and demanding they refund you difference.
If you are going to do something that many other find abhorrent, announcing on a public forum is not the smartest thing to do, eh!
