Default Georgian College

Is Georgian College, Barrie reasonably well regarded?
Does anyone know if the vocational - specifically photography - courses are OK?
Would Collingwood be too far away for reasonable daily commuting?
Thanks all.

I can only comment that their Maritime training programme is very highly regarded.
Sorry, I don't know anything else about the college, but one wonders if one programme is highly regarded is that, perhaps, a reflection of the college as a whole?

I haven't heard anything negative about it and I'm looking to do some teaching there myself and my daughter is looking to do a photography course there as part of her gap year....jobs are posted on Workopolis but you may already know this. The commute from Collingwood is around 45 mins but Highway 26 is renowned for white outs in the winter. Collingwood is just starting to rebuild its Georgian campus so some courses may be available there that you could teach on....there are also campus's in Owen Sound and Midland but they'd be a bit of a trek.

Both my sister and my brother in law when there. My sister was in Tourism - she had no problems and graduated last year.

My Brother in law is very upset about going there. He is in engineering of some kind. He is the only Canadian in his class. 2 of his class members have been kicked out for plagiarism and buying papers online. I do not like the way he gets angry and the harsh words he says about the members of his class. They are all middle eastern education visa students. He says they all share one paper and take turns being the one who "researches" it. He could be a very bitter man - I have no idea if what he sees is true but i thought i would mention it.
