Isn't the disgusting Beer Bistro a "gastro pub"? It's expensive, service is abysmal, food is ludicrous concoctions of ill matched ingredients served in minscule portions, it's full of the sort of people who rent exotic cars to go to the pub. I think it's probably the sort of thing the OP has in mind.

I actually quite like the Beer Bistro. Although I agree with everything you say regarding food etc. What I like is the large variety of beers on offer. I like that you can order several smaller samples (about 4) instead of a pint. it's a great way try out lots of different beers.

I suppose so. I'm afraid my idea of sampling is more along the lines of drinking a case, seeing what impact that has and trying a case of something else another day.
