98.9 on the sign and after the 3.5 cent discount 95.4 at the pump in Duncan BC this afternoon.

Never quite understood why they do this discount thing. It's very common at most major outlets out west.

Is it the same out east?

Never seen it. Usually they try to put the lowest possible price on the sign.

Am I east? Prolly not ;) It's daft though, isn't it? I'd rather have the proper price displayed. Is it a tax dodge or something for the companies, why do they do it?

Not out here. They have a price on their big sign out front and then when you get to the pump the price is 3.5 cents less.

I have no clue as to why or when this practice started.

We also have some small independents that post the actual price on their signs so it can be a little confusing.

What I find confusing is the places with the seperate line (and price) for full service, first time I came across one I thought I'd gone back in time - I still don't know if I'm supposed to tip them or if it's covered in the extra price or what! My head hurts ...

No tip necessary. Its kind of nice to treat yourself in the winter sometimes:)

I dont know that its stepping back in time...maybe the UK just made a mistake in ditching it.
