I just came across this website and thought 'hey, what a triffic idea!' It's a scheme whereby if you have something you want to give away you can advertise in your local area and someone can come by and pick it up. You can also advertise if you need something. This is a good way to clear out your garages and avoid filling up the tip at the same time. This website has links to several groups including many in Canada (see International section) and anything goes from old paint tins to that shabby looking dresser (husbands may complain about being given away but you never know!)
