Default Fraud Warning

Just read this on the CIC website:

"Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has been informed of an email campaign that promises a three-year pass to Canada in exchange for personal information to enable the trip. This type of fraud is known as “phishing”.

Please note that CIC DOES NOT give citizenship or issue visas by any competitive process and would NEVER solicit individuals to provide personal information via email.

If you receive this phoney e-mail, please contact police authorities within your local jurisdiction."

Web link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp

Just in case anyone gets this 'offer' then bin it.

Cheers

Thanks for sharing that one High Numbers - someone could be drawn into it

Maybe the Mods could put this somewhere that everyone can see it just in case it gets lost in the threads

Thank you for sharing that information to us. I'm wondering is there any specific forum where we can discuss any scams or online frauds..

Thanks
