Default Fox creek alberta

Hi oh has to go and do a job for his company in Fox Creek Alberta, he will be there for about 4 weeks, have tried several searches and have found some hotels/motels.

If anybody here knows anything about this area please pass it along, especially reviews of accommodations.

Thanks

Looks to me like it's in the middle of nowhere, which could be why you haven't had any replies, I googled it as I've never heard of it. This website might help???http://www.foxcreek.ca/

Quite!

Visitors will find that the town is a bustling, progressive community that is located 82 kilometres from any other inhabited part of Alberta.

Sorry, can't help ..... sounds a long ways north to me!

Not really that far north but it is in the middle of nowhere, about halfway between Whitecourt and Valleyview.

It's the sort of place that has the "welcome to" and the "thanks for visiting" sign on the same post, blink and you'll miss it.

We used to drive by on our way to and from Edmonton in the early 70's when I worked in Fort St. John BC.

My daughter went there for a wedding last year and says there are only 2 places to stay in Fox Creek, "The Foxwood Inn" was the best apparently. A very small place as has been noted.

Thanks guys for your replies,

yeah we figured it was in the middle of nowhere, spoke with a woman up there today, she was telling us there are only 2500 inhabitants, she says all of the motel/hotels have rooms as things are slow in the oil industry.

He is going up todo the masonry on the new RCMP office hopefully should only be 4 week job or he might get stuck up there for xmas

He seems to have found a place - hopefully is ok

Anyway once again thanks for replies

I'll second everything above. MOH was drilling on a rig up there back end of last year. He didn't think much to the place from memory although i'm sure he was staying in a hotel and not on camp. I'll check tomorrow and find out a bit more for you

2500 eh?

sounds like a bustling metropolis compared to the two 'towns' I was looking at today.

209 or 8.
