Hi Everyone,
Just getting everything finalised ...filling in the B4 forms when I came across two A102 Immunisation forms for pre school children ( I have two). As some of you know I am landing in Toronto (on March 2nd now, flights for the 8th were sold out) then returning to the UK four days later to sell up.
So I' guessing that my question is .........do I need these forms as the kids won't be attending school anytime before 2010. The kids are 11 months and 2.5 years.
thanks....

I would just go to the Doctors and ask them for a copy of the kids immunisations up to present time and then you will be able to hand it in in Canada.
Most Doctors are now computerised nowadays so it shouldn't be that difficult.

Well the 2.5 year old will surely.
Provided he/she is 4 before the 31st December they will start JK that year, so I'm guessing your 2.5 will start school September 2008.
If I'm wrong I stand corrected but that is how I believed it to work.

You don't need to show any proof of immunisations to get in to Canada, nor to start school, but obviously it's a good idea to bring a printout of what your children have had and when. Our son's paed. was very impressed with his "red book" with all the dates, doses and batch numbers and took a photocopy. Useful to have.

So I had to go marching up to the office with another copy asking admin if they could please not misplace this copy, and to be sure to send it off to these people.

We got our UK Dr's surgery to give us a printout of our medical history. Our kids are 12 and 16 so there are many immunisations that I would have forgotton about.
We got the report 2 days after we requested them as was not charged a fee. I will be handing them in to our new surgery here.

They're sneaky - if you get the law for your province, it'll say sth like no child will be admitted without their immunisation record *or* letter of objection/medical exemption/other get out. But they always seem forget to mention the "or" and most people are under the impression it's compulsory for school entrance.
Hope your school takes better care of their 2nd copy

I had to show my kids records of immunization when I registered them for school. In fact my son came home from school one day with a letter from the school board saying that he will be dismissed if they did not receive a copy of his records.

In theory your child might not have to have immunizations to get into school but there have been stories in the media lately about school boards that have suspended pupils until their vaccinations are up to date. This is in Ontario where I think immunizations are mandatory unless you sign a special form saying you opt out for reasons of religion etc.
For example

or

I had to provide details for my 5 year old when she started school (nobody actually looked at them, I just copied them from her red book onto a form) but they weren't interested at my older son's high school. Just hope he doesn't get suspended next week for not having them on record!

Yes. You're right there. That's why I'm worried my son might be suspended if they have a crack down here. He has been vaccinated but the school doesn't know that. (They waved the red book away when I tried to show it to them).

Thanks everyone.........I guess my original question was that I don't have to produce them at the time of landing do I ?
The forms were included with our visa's ...but I've not read anything about them in other forum members landing experiences only the B4's.
What do you think....Bink?
