I can't see that it will make any real difference. I am sure that the relevent regulators will argue that, currently, their assessment criteria are timely, fair, predictable. It will not increase the amount of residency places available for doctors, it will not increase the numbers of places available for lawyers to article, it will not increase the number of junior positions for teachers, etc., etc.
