[QUOTE=Atlantic Xpat][QUOTE=louisbourg]oooooooo got me thinking ,
throw in some good old colemans mixes , chicken chassuer , chilli, sausage cass , beef bourginon ( can't spell )
Thats a good point, I did bring half a dozen sausage casserole mixes back from last trip to UK - couldnt find an equivalent anywhere here. Also bought some super duper stock cubes, not OXO but Kaloo (or something like that) from Tesco. Much much better flavour than Oxo when making gravy.
Found this British & Irish foods supplier in Canada on line:

We've been to the store to buy a few goodies, they are located in Mississauga, and it's not exactly a big store, but they have your usual crisp, marmite, flags, videos, cassette tapes and cds and all that

We dont have any problems buying British stuff in Calgary. The Superstore has even been known to carry M&S ranges from time to time. All the normal stuff, like Tetleys tea, is easily available.
I would wait until she has landed and then ask her what she misses and is unable to buy - then send over a parcel by surface mail. The only food on our list was mixed spice for Christmas baking. Everything else we have been able to get here or just adapted to the Canadian version.
Now, like Hangman, if I could eat it, then I would miss some good cheese. Sainsburys used to sell a very nice Canadian cheddar. Do not be fooled as it is not available here! We have some terrible waxy stuff instead!

Bit confused by all this bringing in food talk. Our removers, PSS, told us that we couldn't pack a cupboard full of Knorr sauce mixes. Are they talking out of their nether regions?

What I wouldn't give to have some Cheshire cheese, Lancashire cheese, Black Pudding, Chorley Cakes, Sausages of any kind etc etc. Or to put it plainly anything with fat in it.

Oh for the days when I could eat any of those things and not have to think twice about it.

Cheers

For me it would have to be Heinz soups of any flavor.
