I sent 2 suitcases over with parcel force and arranged it online from Canada to be picked up from my sister-in-laws in the UK! You'll need the dimensions of the parcel and weight because of the way they cost it out, and you can pay for it online too and they'll collect it. What a great service! You'll need to print some labels on paper to stick to the parcel.

Do Canadian Affair fly in Fall/Winter? I'm trying for a cheap flight between Calgary-Manchester/Gatwick in the middle of November but I can't find any flights?

For sheer convenience it's gotta be Globespan as they're the only direct flight to Halifax from Glasgow.
I'll look into maybe posting a box or two over.
Thanks for response

My Mother in Law came over to us in November last year and the cheapest flights were with Air Canada..............they seem to generally have a seat sale on then. Its to soon for the skiing market and the weather isn't good enough for normal holidays. I think she paid around 300 GBP return

When my Mum got stranded with us here in BC last September after Zoom went bust (ah well, an extra 3 days holiday!), she ended up going back with FlyGlobespan.
We asked them on the phone if they had flights to Glasgow near where she lives. No, but she could go to Manchester, she was told. So she booked that and an onward flight to Glasgow as it was the cheapest option. When she checked in at Vancouver she found that the Flyglobespan flight was going to Glasgow THEN on to Manchester! Wait for it ...they couldn't change her booking as the "office was closed" and no customer service person was at the airport. She had to sit on the tarmac at Glasgow for an hour looking longingly at the terminal then go on to Manchester in order to fly back to Glasgow with another airline. (She could have hopped off of course but her bag was going to Manchester so she had to too.)
Have you ever heard anything like it??
So Flyglobespan are out the window!
If you DO go with them, make sure you take lots of food with you ..buy wraps or something in the airport. We never seem to get enough to eat on planes but they were especially pants in the meal department.

My wife spoke to Globespan this evening
Girl she spoke to was on the ball (sounded like she had fielded a few calls about the subject)
No way around additional baggage - everyone will be limited to their original 20kgs. Childrens equipment, car seats etc. not affected
Looks like our worldly possesions are going to have to get a heck of a lot lighter than originally planned
