Agree CA are cheapest, you will have to get to London Gatwick though, this year they go from May to Oct one flight a week on Thursdays direct to Halifax.

Re: Flights to Canada
we have flown twice from Heathrow to Halifax using AirCanada after driving from 'up north' and they were ok....would have loved to have found an option from Manchester but lots of people use Canadian Affair charter flights from Gatwick to Halifax....... you could fly manchester - toronto etc and then double back but it makes it a much longer journey.

Re: Flights to Canada
I have used lastminute.com for both of my ticket purchases and have gotten really great deals. I'm not sure about Halifax, but these are just examples for your research if you like..
My first flight was Heathrow to Ottawa via Detroit for 11 days : £446.07
My second will be a direct flight from Heathrow to Ottawa for 15 days : £423.47

Or Air Transat also go from Gatwick. We flew Canadian Affair last June from Gatwick, was very reasonable, 2 adults and 2 children came to about £1500
Flight was operated by Thomas Cook, food was fine (typical airline but lots of stuff on the tray)
Seats are leather and the leg room is more than our Virgin Atlantic Florida flights. The flight attendants were great and considerate.
I would recommend them any day of the week!

Re: Flights to Canada
Is it worth getting a cost from Gatwick on Canadian Affair and then checking out a night at a hotel here to make it less stressful? There are loads of hotels round the airport - Holiday Inn, Premier Lodge, Hilton etc or B&B's in Horley (town practically on the flight path), you could look them up, they would look after your car and drop you off at the airport.
Then you could compare to Air Canada. Just a thought.....
Also, discount codes do exist for Air Canada...
4Q7ABBB1 - try this one, I think it works for flights to end of June 11

Condor (dodgy name) will start flying into Halifax from May. Their flights are reasonable and they fly Heathrow but it might be worth looking into them.

Re: Flights to Canada
It's just that I have always thought that the name sounds like a South American freight airline but hey, if it's cheap flights in and out of Nova Scotia that's good enough for me, I don't mind travelling freight!
