As for not queuing at Gatwick???!!!!! WOW I'm impressed...was there a bomb-scare that day?

We had pre-booked seats at £7 each, but on the way out, when they rescheduled our flight, and after we had queued for so long, we were told we could not have the seats we'd paid for and the family were split into 2 and 2, and not even in the same row as eachother, let alone anywhere near the row we had selected!

The food was poor, I felt, compared with what we'd had on Air Canada, and the service slow and grudging.

Canadian Affair is cramped both ways - definitely.. but then, thats the price you pay, i suppose. one good thing we experienced was when we moved over in september, we had sixty kilos over the standard allowance.... it was all we owned! we got there about four hours before the flight - we were the second in the queue... and the check in agent only charged us for half of the excess we were bringing... so it was a nice surprise but it is a budget airline, so it will be nowhere near as nice as BA or Air Canada... IMO

hehe....seriously though....the only significant queue we encountered was at the other end in Halifax when it took us about an hour and then about another 1/2 hour with customs re our 'Good to follow' list.

We were quite amazed....the airport bit was the least stressful part of our whole journey (obviously a good day then!).

I thought our food was fine....couldn't grumble. Obviously not what you would cook at home but then I wouldn't have expected that....everything in miniature ....quite happy!

Just shows how different things can be on different days and different flights!

Nice summary ACL!
You pays your money and you takes your choice and then you hope for the best!
You never know if you're going to get a seat free next to you or if the flight crew are in a good mood. Or for that matter if someone wet theselves in your seat before you (another air canada story). All part of the in flight experience!
By the way Voyager the flights we took were cheaper than Canadian Affair and times were more suited but generaly (I concede) they are more expensive. I was really comparing them to the parent company Air Canada and I found the only thing better with A C was the pretty maple leaf on the wing tips
Isn't this forum great for getting rid of those grumbles
