Default Flights

Just been quoted £4300 for flights from Manchester to Calgary in August for 2 adults and 2 children. Wow! I didn’t pay this to fly to Australia. Is this normal or post Covid? Thanks

Have a look on flight search engines such as Google, Skyscanner, Kayak etc.

I did a dummy booking on Google, Manchester - Calgary return flights, 2 adults and 2 children (2 - 11), 8 - 22 August 2023. Air Canada, checked and carry on luggage included, total price 3,192 pounds. Have a good look around the different search engines.

Hi thanks for your reply. I’ll keep looking. I was honestly expecting around the £600 pp mark so it was a shock. I’m guessing maybe the time of year. Hopefully if we do move there then family could come at different times of the year to visit as no one will pay these prices!

As said above, you need to use a site like Skyscanner but also be flexible - I've just looked and found flights for next August for £552pp, but going from London rather than Manchester. Worth the extra drive to a London airport to save that amount!

So use Skyscanner, search by month rather than specific date if possible so you can see the cheapest dates, and also set your departure point as United Kingdom rather than specifically Manchester, as you may find it's a heck of a lot cheaper to go from another airport.

HTH.
