Has anyone flown over to Canada from the UK since the planes started flying again? If so, did the flight take longer than scheduled because it had to take a longer way round, and by how much?
Thanks in anticipation!

A colleague just reported being on an 11 hour flight LHR-Calgary.
I think they're flying a lot further south than before for the time being.

Your air carrier is the only one who can give accurate scheduling information. Check with them and they will be able to tell you.

If you go to:
http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelin...tus/index.html
You can put in LHR and YYC and see departure and arrival information for all flights for the current and last few days. Yesterday AC851 left LHR five minutes early and arrived thirteen minutes early. It looks similar for YVR.

The route we took was virtually due west and brought us in over Montreal and then right across Canada. Normally we'd have flown over Iceland, the bottom part on Greenland and entered Alberta via the NW Territories!
Our flight time was supposed to be 10 hrs 20 mins, when normally it takes under 9 hours. We actually made up quite a bit of time, but when we arrived in Calgary (from Gatwick last Wednesday) we were unable to dock until the designated one became free.
At last it did ... and then the leaving plane returned to dock again as they had "technical difficulties". We sat on the tarmac at Calgary for an hour before docking. The whole planeload was quite subdued by then .... even the three screaming babies had given up by then!
