Air Transat would be the usual option, but with oil expensive and reduced competition who knows how cheap they will remain.

It would appear that the future is now.

See post number 9 in this thread.

Although the price of a barrel of oil has come down somewhat in the last month or so the ramifications of high oil are just now being seen in some areas.

Both BA and Air Canada have seat sales on for when you are looking at.

Or, you could try to be creative and route through the US somewhere.

Maybe you should go with a larger carrier. I'm one of the people caught out by the Zoom fiasco and will NEVER book with the cut price no frills airlines again.

Lost a packet with Zoom but just re-booked Manchester to Vancouver for mid September with air Canada via Dialaflight for £1280 for 2 adults and one infant.

Its a gamble - cheaper prices = more risk of delays, cancellations and going out of business.

I lost money with zoom. I would use a budget carrier again, but only if price difference was big enough, and I would pay on credit card no matter what!! Right now it's a no brainer - BA or Air Canada

According to a piece on CBC radio news at noon today, BA is offering some discounted rates to those affected by Zoom's demise.

Just to add something to the mix.....I also will be needing the cheapest possible flights to Toronto (timescale unknown, before Xmas). I also need an airline who will allow you to amend your return date. Zoom was my No:1 plan.
Flyglobespan allow date changes, but do not fly Belfast - Toronto in winter.
Airtransat/Canadian Affair non refundable/non changeable and do not fly Belfast - Toronto in winter.

The only option seems to be forking out for Air Canada from Belfast, or hoofing it down to Dublin for Air France or something else.

Feel like banging my head off the screen here Bring back Zoom, all is forgiven.

Victims of Zoom also, but paid credit card and have faxed all info. to CIBC as requested and they will take it from there.

OH also banged his head on computer all morning looking at Air Canada and Airtransat for end of Sept. Finally got our original date with Air Canada at $1960. More baggage allowance which we need. Have to go to Heathrow which we didin't want, it being too busy, but no choice.

I'm in Dublin and Belfast was my preferred option so now i dont know what to do. Im looking at 2nd October, now i could get home to Gatwick or Manchester but really dont know what to do. My colleague is also flying with me and is from London so Gatwick would suit him, also my family are in Leeds so Manchester for me etc, but..... Ireland? Anywhere at all in Ireland? Would be much easier. Please help.

We're going to Fredericton in October. Like many others, have been searching for a cost effective way especially since Canadian Affair immediately put their prices up after the Zoom fiasco! We just booked with Air Canada, when I was searching options I found that its cheaper to fly Heathrow to Fredericton with an internal flight, from Halifax than just Heathrow to Halifax! Also with a schedule like Air Canada there are no extra charges for seats together and meals. We paid just over £1,600 for the four of us !

My only concern is when my children wanted to see pictures of the planes, then I realised the outbound flight Halifax to Fredericton is an 18 seater very small plane ! Will need a stiff drink for that bit! Jo
