Default Flight insurance

Ok we are flying out with Canadian Affairs,

on the booking online it asked for our Insurance details, if we didn`t take theres, you had a wee box to tick to say (arrange later)... Who has left the UK, one way and didn`t take out the Insurance?? my worry is they will make us at the check in desk take it out or do they?

I mean why get insured for a 6 hour flight

Hi,
We took out insurance through Insure & Go in the UK which cost a measly 15quid for a single week. I explained we wouldn't be coming back and that didn't seem to matter, as I recall. After all, we were covered for the flight and a week in Canada after that ... check 'em out.
Have fun.

What is it that you're supposed to insure against? Cancelation and/or delays? Doubt it, that's covered by FCAA regs. Missing the flight through ill health? Might be worth it. Getting wiped out in a crash? Highly unlikely, and ask yourself, who would really think a few quid would compensate in those circumstances?

Don't worry they will not ask for proof of insurance when you check in. Our insurance was covered thro Natwest for all our travel worldwide and all we did was carry the info with us.

You are worrying unnecessarily you'll be fine

Hi Sutherlands - firstly, if you paid for your tickets on credit card you may be covered; secondly, they don't check it anyway.....so I don't even know why they bother with the Tick Box!
Have a good flight and enjoy your new life here!
