I've booked a flight for the 25th with British Airways departing from London Heathrow to Arrive in Vancouver Canada, the times say 12:40 Depart, 14:05 Arrive. But it says the duration is 9 hours and 25minutes?? and at 20:45 I leave Vancouver to Nanaimo but i'd miss it?

Actually I think I'd be on there time zone once I arrive so the 14:05 might work out if they are 8 hours behind UK Timezone. If anybody can confirm though that would be good, and then I guess I'd just sit around the Airport there for 6 hours until the next flight.

You'd probably be better off getting the floatplane over to Nanaimo as these are every 2hours ... might save you a long wait at the airport! (& yes, those times sound about right with the 8hour difference) Plus, you don't have to pay the extortionate airport fees if you come in by floatplane!

All times on a civilian itinerary are local. If you consider a floatplane service, factor in how much baggage you have, restrictions are tighter than on an airport to airport scheduled service (depending on the carrier).

Unlikely the OP would be able to make Vancouver - Nanaimo Harbour to Harbour, at that time of year the last flight of the day is about 17:00 (visual flight rules)

The last flight out of YVR for August is 19.15, so still workable. Amphibs and floats can fly VFR night, just cannot land on an unlit landing area after legal night, which is going to be 20.39 on August 25, 2013.
