Just wanted to check how long people have waited for their first tax return...

We have lived in Nova Scotia since May 2007, filed our tax returns in April 08.

I received mine quite quickly, but my husband is still waiting!!! Any hope?

We have been here since June 07, filed tax returns in April 08 and are still waiting...grrrr! Each time we phone up they say that the delay is that we are new and that we should receive it in a couple of weeks....!

I hear ya!!! we have phoned too and on our last call they said it would go to the investigation team and we would hear in 2 weeks. My husband called today and was passed to the International tax office and they said it can take 6-8 months for the first one. No one has said that to us before!!!

Hi - ours went in at the beginning of May I think. I got my huge refund of $69 back quite quickly - but hubby's tax return went for further investigation/clarification etc, and we finally got his cheque back about two weeks ago.

Yours will tick slowly through the system in due course

Did you send them a Timmies Swipe Card with your return....!! That will be why they whizzed yours through

Our 1st tax return was done by our accountant and posted in early May. Having waited til late July we phoned Revenue Canada and was told it had been forwarded to the International Dept and may take another 4 months or so.

However, in mid August our lovely fat cheque came back

Been here since August 2007, filed a joint return in April 2008 and got the check about 4-5 weeks later.
