We have recently received our SINGLE ENTRY permanent resident visas. We plan to go to Canada soon for a short visit and then return back to the USA, sell our house and go back later in the year permanently.
How do I do this since I only have a single entry visa? Does anyone know what I need to do once I get to Canada to get a PR card? What address do I use and how long do I have to stay in Canada before the card arrives in the mail? Can I request that the card be given to me in person?
Thanks,

Points to bear in mind:
1. PR Card will only be sent to a Canadian residential address. You can use a friend's address. Don't use an address in Quebec if you are not a Quebec immigrant.
2. After you have landed, your options to re-enter Canada without a PR Card are:
a. Drive over the land border with evidence of your PR (bring printouts from CIC website confirm this is ok as some border agents don't seem to understand this); or
b. Get a Travel Document from a Canadian consulate in the US; or
c. If you have a visa-waiver passport (British citizen, Australian, US etc) you can fly back to Canada with Air Canada using just your passport and then present yourself as a PR to Immigration. Be prepared for a grilling/delay. If flying with another airline, check whether they will also allow you to board with just a passport (and with Air Canada check they haven't changed their policy).
3. Some border agents are expecting (apparently) to see evidence that you plan to establish permanent residence in Canada at the time of landing, not later.
