Looking at it now, my Maltese visa debit card is on that account. I also remember now that I created that account while I was physically in Malta...maybe you could mask your presence with a VPN and try it again.

Did you get anywhere with the CC route?

I tried ... didn't work. Keeps saying not available in your country / on your device. I kind of gave up. FD are supposed to be sending me a device. Thanks for trying to help.

UPDATE. So having done everything mentioned here to change my account to Canada while still in the UK and failing, the moment I connected my device to my wifi when we were at the house in Ottawa everything worked fine - I was able to download and install Canadian apps (eg TD Trust, Flipp etc.) easily.

Now back in the UK for a few weeks, I can still update the Canadian apps I intalled while in Canada.

Maybe it is a combination of IP address AND account setting? Anyway, that's my experience.
