hello everyone!
I had been interacting with some people who recently immigrated to Canada. Horror stories about employment trends in Canada have been the main stay.
I am not sure what the situation is like for telecom professionals (network solution architects and systems engineers).
Montreal and Alberta seem progressive technologically. Can someone perhaps share an insight?
cheers

For every horror story, there are several success stories. Immigration and employment are largely what you make of it. And that includes researching job opportunities/qualification requirements/equivalencies & ensuring that you plan to emigrate to a part of Canada where there is a reasonable chance of finding work in your field. Even if the houses are cheaper elsewhere.
Do you have PR status yet?

For me and my personal experiences it appears that too many people want to step from what they had in Uk into the same level/status in Canada and in reality in the main that just doesn't happen.
Be prepared to work in McDonalds before obtaining that Mon-Thurs 9:30am to 4:30pm $100,000 per year dream job !!
