Default Finding a job in Canada timeline

Hi all

I wondered whether if peeps already got jobs or offers if they would like to share their timelines and experiences in getting the positions they have successfully gained. Its frustrating :curse: that peeps in companies, responses to cold calling, phoning and emails very hit and miss when supposed to be crying out for workers.

Where do you want to work? Calgary area
Started trying to get job? March 2007

Taken or taking any exams to have the job? doing AB Millwright exam in Aug

Applied for LMO, date? not applicable yet
Got positive LMO, date? not applicable yet

Many thanks and good luck to all
David

Hi David

Here is the timeline for Phil's adventure.

We basically decided to go over for a "holiday" and arranged a couple of interviews - but they turned out not to be the job that Phil took. For a few days whilst on "holiday" Phil rang round firms took resumes in and then followed up the day after to see if they were interested.

We have got to be honest about this one though my Canadian friend drove round with him showing him where the companies were and one of the receptionists at one of the firms told them that a certain other firm was hiring and had been trying to hire for a while. That wass Phil's next port of call and the job that he got.

Can't be bothered, don't see the point as everyone's circumstances are so different.

I was offered a job here before I decided I wanted to go. Then I thought about it and decided I would like to. Does that count?
