Default Financial advisor advice

Hi everyone,
Can anyone suggest a good financial adviser (money manager) n the Vancouver, Maple Ridge, Langley, Mission area that is well versed in Canada and UK tax and investment products and strategies? Someone you use yourself and have actually profited from his advice?

We have fairly large amounts of cash in the banks both in Canada and the UK just sitting there waiting for us to spend it. We'd like to start using it to make us some more money, but haven't a clue.

PM me a name and area if we aren't meant to be giving particulars in public.
Thanks!

Before you engage a financial advisor, try looking first at the Canadian Investor Education Fund-a non-profit organization that informs about all types of investments. Get Smarter About Money Home - Investor Education Fund

You may also want to take out a subscription to Moneysense Magazine, issued seven times a year, or online. An excellent source for information on savings, investments, pensions and general taxation in Canada. MoneySense - Canada's personal finance website

There quite a few financial blogs, one I follow is that of Jamie Golombek.

The weekend edition of the Globe and Mail business section has many personal financial columns.

Soon I am going home after 45 years in Canada. After looking for an accountant or tax adviser in Canada to spell out the taxation consequences for me in the U.K. I decided to use all the online resources of HMRC and the CRA.

Good luck.

As we are about to move to the Lower Mainland ourselves, my father-in-law (from Richmond) put me in touch with Odlum Brown (https://www.odlumbrown.com/). I have not personally used them yet, but my in-laws have used them for many years and I know they've been very happy.
