Finally we have moved in!!

Well having left the UK end of September and after spending two glorious weeks in France we finally arrived in Calgary October 20th.
We stayed with family for 10 days before getting the keys to our new home. The down side was that our belongings which were supposed to arrive week beginning 29th October didnt arrive until Friday 16th November!!! Still as soon as we had our new beds delivered we moved in and family and friends loaned us a picnic table and chairs - what a delight it now is to sit on a nice comfy chair. The downside was that our new home was not left in good condition. OUr realtor said she had never seen a home left so dirty and the number of broken electrical points and bear wires hanging out is unbelieveable.
We are slowly rejoining the world having just got our computers up and running again, such frustration without them. We have had two glorious weeks without a tv, until tonight when our satelite installation is supposed to be switched on (our daughter will be delighted).
We have had such a great time looking at the local wild life. The birds are amazing and the number of white tailed deer in the garden is fantastic, we could sit and watch them all day long.
Our family made us rethink our plans for the main car as they took one look at our location and said a Dodge Caravan wouldnt do so we have ended up with a Honda Pilot, very nice but I never thought we would end up driving an SUV. We also bought a Honda Civic as a smaller car which was supposed to have traction control but judging by the way it got stuck on the ice approaching our drive the other evening we dont think it has so we may have a fight on our hands with the garage to do something about that.
All in all we feel very settled here and havent thought too much about home, been too busy I suppose. It feels right though and we hope it lasts.
My sincere thanks to all who have given advice over the months it was all greatly appreciated.

Congrates.....
We are almost a year here and it does fly bye... we have just bought our house and move in on the 11th of Jan... I am a little concerned by the fact that once u walk in the door u don’t have any come back if the lets say heating doesn’t work ect....we did get an inspection done and all was in good order, but when asked if it don’t work when we move in then what? Was told that they should honour that agreement...well what if they don’t I asked... then there is no come back we where told... fingers crossed we have bought off of a decent person. Fingers crossed it’s not caused you too much time and trouble.
If you’re enjoying the wildlife as much as we do, you will be in for some real treats. Snapping turtles as big as car tyres, blue jays, wood peckers, praying mantis, humming birds, chip monks and many more wonderful critters you will find here.
Have fun and enjoy your new life’s….
