I dress the same here for work as I did in London (UK). Shirt (full sleeved when cool, short-sleeved when warm), cotton chino trousers and reasonably smart shoes.

I tend to go for designer stuff as I think it's better quality (Ralph Lauren, YSL, Hilfiger etc). I have no problem getting those items here, but I wait until it's on sale and then stock up. I hate shopping for casual/work clothes anyway so as soon as I find something on sale that fits, I'll buy a few in different colours.

The clothes I do like shopping for are the more activity related clothes, so I love MEC, Patagonia, NorthFace and Out There.

I tend to wear more sporty clothes now than I used to in the UK - mainly because when it is almost 40 degrees with humidity, you only need shorts and t-shirt. :D

People don't come in kilos in Canada, they come in feet, inches and pounds, even my francophone children don't use metric for humans or apartments. I think there are around 2 kilos to a pound so I guess she weighs 224 kilos.

Oh! I translated the weight of our Canadian dog, 60lbs, for some Swiss visitors. I said it was about 120 kilos. No wonder they weren't keen to ride in the car with it.

My point was that stone to pounds is not a conversion :p I dislike kilos and km and all that jazz but your aversion to the metric system is bordering on the obsessional ;)

My original point in using pounds was that that's how people are weighed here; Canadians don't use the stone as a unit of weight. Neither do they use metric for people, one would never see a personal ad for someone 11.34 hectares tall and .74 liters hung, it's always 6 feet, 8 inches, 175 pounds.
