"Reports showed pictures of a bloody scene and the injured being attended by paramedics.

Police said it doesn't appear the incident is linked to gang violence.

Mark Gordienko, president of the Longshoreman's Union, said he was stunned by the violence that unfolded during the meeting, and said he was sending his best wishes to the families of the victims involved."

Holy. Shit.

People need to take gun crime in Vancouver more seriously.

Hmmm, escalating gun crime, traffic gridlock, unaffordable housing, rain on a par with the UK......and yet Vancouver is always high up the "official" lists of best cities to live in the world.
I haven't actually visited and I'm not sure that I want to! But I'm curious to know what actually makes it a great place to live?

No idea, but Melbourne and Auckland both score well too and Auckland is a hot mess and Melbourne has traffic issues and bad urban sprawl.

I think those liveability things are bs.

Though, if you're smart enough to live near transit/not out in a car-reliant burb, the traffic issues in Van won't effect you. That's why lots of people chose to live closer in (and why prices are high).
