Default Exchange rate rising

Well, I don't know much about World economics and from what I have managed to understand the USA is up to its neck in it and there are worldwide economies teetering on the brink of collapse
BUT
in the last few days the exchange rate テつ」 to CAD$ as improved significantly. $1.60 to the テつ」 today
Call me simple and selfish, but long may the global money market crisis continue if this is the result!
(Or at least until I sell my house and transfer the funds)

The smartest thing the British Government has done over recent decades was stay out of the Euro.

Save it up for a while, Tim!
You have had low rates your way for quite a while now - let us have a look in!

When Germany reduces its interest rates (which it will ultimately), the overvalued Euro will tank. That's when I buy my place in Spain.

Have I missed something - who is burning down London?
Ah, yes, I see now. What is the reason for that?

Hmmmmm. I have looked at this - not sure that a crowd of yobs in Tottenham is going to have any effect on International money markets, not when the whole of Greece is going to doing so, anyway........

Totally disagree, if the UK had been in the Euro then the Euro would have been stronger and all the problems the ECB is having right now would have been smaller. At the end of the day all the largest trading partners the UK has are in the EU.

Which still shows the pound as being pathetically weak, I remember in 2003 when it got up to $2.50, and for quite some time afterward it was well over $2.
