You are a complete........, but then you must already know that.

We still have a big chunk on money in the UK, but have not yet found a house to buy!!!! I was optomistically hoping that the election would bring a more healthier rate, but apparently after some "debate", it's looking more likely heading for a hung parliment:unsure:
what to do?????:confused:what to do??????

Sorry to add to your woes but you need to factor in other considerations other than sterling such as house price variations. Say you are putting down 35% then you are doing that at say $1.54. If house prices go up and you buy in the future you will have to pay a large $ sum than now for both the down payment and the overall price. Whilst if the £ increases, some of this is offset; if it doesn’t then none is offset. If house prices go down you are a winner in both currency and the price you paid for your home.

Also if you are paying rent, you are getting no return on the capital you invest; your landlord is. You need to consider this in any calculation you consider.

There are other factors that need to be considered but ultimately it is never as straight forward as exchange rates.

We would never have worked out that the price of the thing you intend to use your money for would be a factor. So, thanks for that, this thread needs more posters with your financial acumen.

No thanks. Last time you PM'd me completely out of the blue you wouldn't stop when I asked. I think you have issues and I'd advise anyone to stay well away from any kind of one-to-one interaction from you.

Thanks for the recommendation! If you don't like me, I reckon there will be a lot of people on here who will!:rofl::rofl:

Still in response to your original point; my reply that you responded to in an unnecessary sarcastic and condescending way was in response to a poster who was only considering the exchange rate regarding his possible property purchase. I politely pointed out that there are other considerations that one needs to factor in. Your response was sarcastic, rude and unnecessary. It is easy to sit on the outside and take one line potshots at others as appears to be the norm from yourself.

I would have complained to the moderators about your response alleging that I have issues (Rule 2 requires that you don't insult others) but I can't be bothered as you are an irrelevance in my life. :whatchutalkingabout :)

Still hopefully this post can now revert to the subject now

These personal slagging matches are pathetic!!! A lot of it seems to go on, on this site - which is why I stopped visiting regularly!
It just isn't helpful to anyone. If you disagree with someones point or advise, why not simply give your opinion rather than making it personal - grow up guys!!!!
