Take my Q. i have done extensive research including studying various CAD charts to understand where they are moving etc. And also talked to the banks.
Anyways all your responses were helpful.

It's easy to transfer money if you have an online bank account but if you don't you can just fill out a transfer slip at the bank, it costs nothing. And don't let them persuade you to do it by CHAPS Transfer as it will cost you £25 to do that.

Enough said now the good news. Job offer from BC Hydro came through last night so we had a little celebration.
We are off to Vancouver in January to start our new life and we do fully understand the emotional roller coaster of immigration!
Good luck to all in the process its taken us 5 years to get this far.

3 years I was trying to get into Hydro. It was getting very frustrating but buy chance I was given a contact who had recently retired from Hydro and started small talk correspondence with him. I asked general questions about the company and after a while he offered to forward my resume onto to the hiring manager. This guy turns out to be related to the hiring manager!
This was really fortuitous and I had an interview within 2 weeks and the rest they say is history. The morale is networking works in Canada, you here this time and time again on the forums. Try and find someone in you line of work and get to know them - it works!
I handed my notice in this week and we are no frantically making preparations to leave. Last Christmas in the UK, then by.
I spoke with my new boss last night who evidently is South African. He has given us excellent advice on where to live in Vancouver in relation to my base.
We will be relocating to Vancouver on the 14th January and starting work on the 29th. Hydro are paying all relocation including estate agents fees in the UK, container, 2 months accommodation, flights for all the family and property transfer tax when we buy in Vancouver which I think is excellent.
On top of that I get a company car so no BC hell insurance to find for me, only the wife who has full UK no claims.
Just need to sell our UK property, the market is dire in Kent, forget the tabloids and rising prices nothing is moving across the board here and I think it will be the spring at least before it sells.
