Hi Lorna

Well, my background is in engineering, but really had had enough of that in the UK, was looking for something different to do. The last job attempt was just some part time driving work. It was either my accent or my size, being much smaller than the average Canadian. Probably unlucky, I'm sure it's not the norm, so don't let me put you off!

Hello Paul

My new employer would like me out in Calgary asap so hoping to be there by the start of July.

As for family I have mine up in Scotland so only really see them every few months. I moved down to England 3 years ago for work and really there is not much for me up in Scotland so don't see myself going back. We are pretty close but I keep telling my Mum that she shouldn't have raised such independent children if they didn't want us to travel.

When will you be out in Canada?

Sorry to everyone else for slightly hijacking the thread.

Cheers

Dave

Do you have any family at all in the UK? I used to have quite a close family, but it seemed to all drift apart (not through lack of trying on my part) after my parents passed away... I only have my sister now that I stay in touch with, but she is married and with her own family, I must say I will miss my nephew growing up. But I can still stay in touchwithn them, and I hope to have my own children, and as many people have said to me on here....who knows whats around the corner in Canada... im looking at it as an adventure...that may well be the start of the rest of my life...

When do you leave for Calgary?

Paul
