Default ESTA

Hi Guys!

I'm off to Canada for a couple of weeks next month.

We are planning on visiting the States a couple of times but have not yet visited on the new ESTA program.

I have registered online but I can't seem to find anywhere that it states the entry date? I am sure there was one when I registered a couple of months ago

Anyway, I would just like to know if the information I have provided (the address while in the US etc) is adequate? I figured they would need a date that we were entering or do we just show up whenever we like until it expires in a few years?

Many thanks!

Are you flying or driving? Not needed if you're driving (yet).

Sorry for jumping in here, but...

what is the quickest way to get an ESTA, and where would I get it from? We might be flying now, instead of driving across the border.

You just fill in you info online. This is the official website

Just watch out for sites trying to charge you for the pleasure the service is free of charge

So, you don't actually get sent anything in the mail that you have to have with you when you get to the US? It's just an online thing?

That's right, I just printed off the response page that said Authorisation Approved along with the application number. I carried it with my passport when I flew to NY but nobody asked to see it.

Hi there, we completed ours online before flying out to Hawaii back in August, but nobody ever asked us about it, plus we still had to complete one of the green forms during the flight.

I think it is taking a bit of time for it to take effect.

Better to be safe than sorry though.
