Question Entry to Canada with PR Card

Hi guys, this is the first time I have posted on this forum - just have a quick query.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me the format when you visit Canada with an Immigrant Stamp in your passport. My wife and I lived in Calgary, for about 18 months and left to return to the UK in mid 2006. We are taking a short break to Toronto next week and wondered if we need to take our Permanent Resident Cards with us? What happens at Immigration - will they insist on seeing the PR Cards (do they get scanned or something) or doesn't it matter about taking them due to the short nature of our visit (only 1 week)?

Any thoughts welcome.

David

Hi - my husband had the same thing as he lived in Canada for a year and then we moved back to the UK. He never used to show his card when we came back for a visit. Only once he was asked if he was residing in the UK or Canada and they weren't interested once he said UK. You should have no problem but it wouldn't hurt to have it with you just incase.

I would deffo have the PR card with me.
I commuted back and forth between Canada and Germany for 6 months last/this year and each time they asked for my PR Card at both departure and arrival airports.

Why on earth wouldn't you take your PR cards with you? It's not like they take up much space.
