Default Entering into US with I94

Does anyone know that if I enter Canada from US, then how long can I stay in Canada if I wish to re-enter US on the same I-94!

Also how does the guy at the border know that how long have I been in Canada !?

thanx

we re entered the US by flight showing the unexpired I-94 and I-797 (H-1B approval notice). automatic visa revalidation is allowed only for less than 30 day visit/stay in Canada or Mexico. hope this helps.

the burden of proof of how long one stayed out of the US lies on the person. be prepared to show evidence of date of entry to Canada or Mexico.
