empty house insurance
Hello,
Haven’t sold our house in the UK so we’re thinking of leaving it empty, we don’t want to rent it out, and get across to Canada. We would still leave it on the market and in time hopefully flog it. Can anybody recommend a UK insurance company that would offer insurance for an empty property. Also it would be appreciated if anyone knows of any “pitfalls†of doing this, as I’m sure its not as simple as it looks.. Thanks |
Re: empty house insurance
hi
a couple of years ago my mother was in and out of hospital and then she had to go into a care home. All in all her home was vacant for a bout 1 1/2 years before we managed to sell the property. All I did was inform the current insurers that the property was vacant and that it was checked twice a week. This satisfied them until the house was sold....I hope this helps |

If you're really stuck finding a firm to cover you, try Higos (www.higos.co.uk) I used to use them in a former life and they'll cover just about any risk imaginable...
