Employment Concerns
We are hoping to relocate to the Calgary area in 2014. We've just paid for the visa, so should receive it soon. My husband is currently a Software Development Manager, and we are hoping that he can get a similar job in Canada. However, we would feel happier moving to Canada with a job offer, as opposed to just landing there with no job. Is it possible/impossible? I also understand from the Relocation Package sent by our immigration consultants, that the job market is 'hidden'. Would love some advice please?

Re: Employment Concerns
Our immigrations consultants have been told by the high commission that we have passed the visa process and medicals. so we've paid for the visa as requested. We're just waiting for them to request our passports for the actual visa and PR card. Our consultants said it wouldn't be a long wait now. So we are starting to plan the 'big move'.

Re: Employment Concerns
I've heard some people say that having a Canadian telephone number can help, which I believe you can set up through Skype? I have no personal experience of this, sorry. My hubby came on a work permit to start, but his is a very specialised job.

You are much more likely to get a job when you are here, but you can make a start now. Read this:
