My husband and I are considering emmigrating and are looking at all the options. I am a secondary school teacher with nine years' experience and know that we qualify for Austrialian emmigration - but I did the test on the High Commission's website and only got 67 points - is it harder to emmigrate to Canada? Or did I do the test wrong?

Canada just changed its laws and shifted around the emphasis it puts on various areas
such as language and education etc and compared to the old system it is harder for
the kind of people who used to be able to qualify. So really you need some points in
the adaptability and both partners to havea degree and work experience etc. it is
possible you missed some parts on the test, try looking at the actual points tables:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english-
/skilled/qual-5.html
to see what they are actually given for and what areas you may be able to improve on
or switch around.
