Default Emigration Show

Does anyone have any idea if Immigration officials will speak to the Spouse of an applicant when the applicant themself is not at the show. I intend going to the Sandown show but my wife (principal applicant) can't go, so I am trying to find out if it is worth it.
Also, any suggestions as to the best day to go as I will need to book flights soon from Glasgow.
Stuarty.
