Default Electrician work in Alberta

I am heading to Calgary in 2 weeks on the IEC visa and was just wondering what the work situation is like there for electricians?
Also what safety course will I need to do first before I can work in construction if any?
any help appreciated! cheers

There's a few places you can look - Jobbank Alberta has 52 Electrcian jobs.

This might be useful too Finding Job Opportunities-Canada : British Expat Wiki

As you have your AIT approval and an open work permit, I would think you have a good chance at getting something - make sure they know you have a 2 year open work permit, so they aren't concerned you will need sponsorship for an LMIA.

Best of luck!
