Election - what does it mean ?

I see that Canada will go to the ballot box on the 14th of October. If the Conservatives win - if you believe the polls - by a larger margin is that good for immigration or would it better for the liberals ?

I see however that the liberals would favour taxing the CO2 emissions - not good for the oilsands which may not be good for people like me trying to get there.

I would like to see and respect people's views on yje above to gain a better understanding.

Thanks

JET:)

Immigration levels are likely to remain broadly similar regardless of who wins.

My (seemingly uneducated) opinion----------------------------
Whoever wins they'll still shaft us:thumbdown:

Heard that if the liberals win, then there is the possibility that the new immigration procedures since Feb 27th will be scrapped, meaning we will be back to square one with the immigration backlog, but at least everyone will have their application form looked at. May take forever but at least you will be somewhere in the queue.

My largely uneducated opinion is this is going to be another exercise in futility.

We will spend millions on this election and come out with largely the same bloody result as last time.

So much for Harper and his "I want a new mandate".

F****ng idiot.:mad::curse::curse::curse::curse::curse:

I totally agree, Steve. It'll be another minority Harper government.

The Harper lead Conservatives with the possibility of a majority.

Thanks Steve, so if the conservatives win it will be the same old story again of just waiting around to see who will be rejected and who won`t from the SW list. If the liberals win we are back to square one again with the huge backlog. So it really doesn`t matter who wins. Very much a case of between the devil and the deep blue sea:lol:

Exactly, and as stated above by others as well nothing really changes anyway as nobody (politicians) have the guts to put their heads on the line and say what really should be done. Its the old rule of politics compromise is everything.

^^^ generally what he said, another festival of burn-the-taxpayers-cash.

More mindless dull people who don't really know what they want to do, talking mindless dull piffle and another minority government. Harper and his US/neocon agenda has been a huge waste of space. Just like the next US ass-sucking waste of space we get to run the country.

Politicians: universal scum suckers.

Do you really think, with the scale of economic challenge, noise about green issues, etc that anyone from the general population gives a crap about immigration processing ?

It's a low-radar item. That's the reality.
