Default Edmonton Flights this summer

Currently booking flights for end of July for 2 weeks back to England London and the cost is crazy... $3,000 for 2 adults and a infant. Am i better off waiting to see if prices come down?

Also I have some UK money is it better to pay in pounds at the moment??

It's the school holidays - they are more likely to go up than down!

If you could go a bit earlier or later (say in mid-September) the price will be less.

End of July is complete peak time, smack in the middle of the summer. You'd be better off going in June or September once school is back in session.

I find flighthub is a pretty good comparison tool. If not, check iceland air. They fly from Edmonton to the UK. Air Transat may also be flying at that time.

However, $3000 for 3 seats is not that expensive for Canadian standards.

It's for 2 seats and an infant, so just taxes... $3000 is a bit steep. We just book flights for Christmas - peak season - for $889 each from Toronto.

LondonUK - I use kayak.com for all my flight searches, they're great for comparisons across airlines.

That seems to be about standard for that time of the year with the big airlines, given the exchange rate.

Try Air Transat from Calgary. Probably upto 20% cheaper. They aren't the bargain they used to be, partly due to the long-ago demise of Zoom and XL and the high UK APD.

Icelandair from Edmonton might be the best price - maybe $1000 per adult return price, depending on dates.

Many variables in flight pricing. Cabin, time of year, day of week, time of day, routing, seat class (each cabin has several seat classes), carrier, which airports they use. $3000 for 2 adults and an infant is not bad for high season.
