Hi all,

I'm about to move from Edmonton to Calgary.

First of all - I / we (my wife and I) won't know anyone in Calgary, so if anyone's up for a pint or 2 sometime soon please let me know. We are both mid 20s and sociable!

Also, I'm looking to join a football (soccer) team - Is there anybody on the forum who knows of a team with other ex-pats in? If so some contact details would be appreciated.

I work in downtown Calgary and would be happy to meet up for a pint at lunchtime. We lived in Calgary until just before Christmas last year when we moved out of the city. I would be happy to provide you with answers to any questions you may have.

I suggest you give cheeky_monkey a shout. He moved from Edmonton to Calgary and is a former pro footballer.

Lunchtime pint i'd be up for. I work downtown. I also play on a football team (Soccer for the Canuks). There are 3 of us English lads on it. We got promoted this summer to Div 4 for next season and are about to start in a month the indoor season. Let me know if you are interested. Xi FC is the team and we are in the CUSA Leagues. A few of us are Arsenal fans and we watch all the games as well at the Pig and duke pub as it's the only downtown pub that opens for all the 8am Saturday games. We will be there Sat 8am to watch Arsenal v Sunderland if you fancy stopping by.
