the economy

One reads the online news etc. to get a general idea but how do you folks feel about how the Canadian economy is going?
Are jobs (especially in I.T.) on the increase? How are young people (18-25) doing? Are some regions coping better than others?
These things would be good to know.

Although folks don't like to admit it, Canada pretty much operates as a subsidiary of the USA. So the old saying of "when America sneezes we catch a cold", really holds water here.
I read this in a local rag, and it pretty much hits the nail on the head. (at least for my part of Canada)
"The recession will end, oil and gas prices will go back up, and than, what do you know - boom time again! Then you can all stop worrying your pretty little heads about big-old nasty politics and get back down to the serious business of watching how much your condo has risen in value".
