Default ebid not ebay

I have just discovered from a former ebay user this auction site which is UK based but is in a number of countries including Canada. List for free etc.

www.ebid.net You click on the country you want.

Maybe this will be of interest to somebody. I am checking it out.

bazzz is an unknown quantity at this point

The problem is that it'll only have a tiny fraction of the buyers and sellers that eBay has, so the prices are unlikely to be very competitive on either side.

True, but it is free to list your item, plus as long as you have a reserve on your item then what have you to loose from trying?

Plus with e-bay increasing fees etc, a little competition has got to be a good thing

Yes it may have less coverage then EBay but as it is free you have nothing to lose. Also agree that EBay does need some competition, as many folks have said on their forums they are getting greedy.
They are in quite a few countries so they will get more known.

There are lots of sites - usedregina.com -- used every other city in Canada dot com. Trouble is that when it costs nothing to advertise, then very often the stuff people are advertising is stuff I would throw in the bin or send to the Sally Ann!

There was a piece in the paper last week about some woman who bought a "purebred" dachshund puppy on usedregina. She paid $200 for it. She took it to the vet and the vet told her it was not a dachshund; it was not a puppy; it was a mongrel about 2 years old!!!!!!!!!!

When she tried to contact the seller, she had moved and her phone disconnected!!!

Sorry -- I had to laugh!!!

Of course that doesn't mean the same about the recommended site - its just that advertising for nothing often means they are selling stuff that is also worth nothing!
